IMEASY X

IMEASY X, only available for Mac OS X, derives directly from the hardware-software system for Windows XP called IMEASY, produced by A&G Soluzioni Digitali in 1999. This system is still available and is made up of a PCI card with ADAT ports, and the IMEASY program.
Although it retains its most successful features, i.e. the 3D views in OpenGL and the Time Editor window, this new incarnation of the original idea offers many new functions, mainly relevant to multi-channel applications in a Live context, but above all is simply a much lighter and more manageable MIDI application, capable of controlling all the parameters of the X-Spat Base system.
The Time Editor window does not feature any longer the visualization of the audio files, as it did in the Windows XP version. Now it allows you to manage the nodes of the trajectories on the time line, together with various types of Markers. The user will be able to control these Markers through various combinations of characters on the Mac keyboard, which can be assigned at will. Later we will look at how these markers, duly organised in the new Storyboard window and in the Time Editor, provide any sound designer who has to manage the multi-channel audio of a show with a reliable and powerful tool to keep the situation constantly under control, even in the context of very complex setups.
IMEASY X provides a truly three-dimensional interface in OpenGL for the creation, modification and performance of simulated audio trajectories with the X-Spat Base system. The application is completed by various other windows that allow control and adaptation in real time of reproduction, SMPTE/MIDI Time Code synchronisation and much more.
Each file produced by IMEASY X (Session) may contain various setups. Having created one or more Setups, the instruction “Activate Setup” will activate the Setup currently selected in the “Project Tree” window.
Now let°òs look in detail at the various windows and options in the main menus.
